The Fiji Islands are my home, and source of inspiration, as I use dyes, paint, barkcloth, sand, silk and cement to respond in my own creative way to the challenges, tension, and beauty of life in a developing Pacific island nation. Lori Miller
Such beautiful images and colors. Maria, I've been thinking about you since I last looked at your art (LOVE it!) and wondered if you happened to have a blog or a book about your life in Fiji. I am so interested in your life and art there. I'm sure others would be too.
Maria Rova replied:
Hi Lori, thanks for your interest. I have just recently started writing a blog "Noted On The Wayside" which can be found at http://maria-rova-art.blogspot.com/. Just occasional bits and pieces about my life as an artist in Fiji - maybe once my kids have grown up and flown the nest I'll have time for more entries! :)

Pauline Moore
All your work is amazing! Its like a kind of lyrical cubism or something? I don't know what to call it and that means it is very, very creative, outside the box!
Maria Rova replied:
thanks Pauline for your delightful comment! I've never been very good at fitting into prescribed boxes, and I guess my (largely self-taught) art endeavors don't do so either!
